In 2026, employees around the globe once again engaged in the Action Weeks and made a strong statement for responsibility and solidarity with their projects.

What started as a bundling of local sustainability projects has today developed into a globally supported action with measurable impact: the WeCare initiative of the Brucklacher Group.

Sustainability and social commitment have been an integral part of the lived corporate culture for decades and are deeply embedded in the DNA of the sister companies Leitz, Boehlerit, and Bilz. Since 2022, WeCare has systematically brought together, further developed, and made internationally visible these activities of the Brucklacher Group in the areas of society, social affairs, and culture as well as species, nature, and environmental protection. The aim is to bundle forces, utilize synergies, and specifically expand the impact of the commitment. This particularly benefits smaller, regional projects that receive additional support through the shared platform – while being closely anchored at their respective locations.

A strong signal in the anniversary year

In the anniversary year of Leitz, this commitment takes on additional significance: 150 years of company history stand not only for tradition and innovative strength but also for a values-based corporate culture. The WeCare initiative shows how this attitude is actively lived and carried into the future – through employees who take responsibility and sustainably shape their environment.

Since the beginning of the initiative, projects initiated by employees and implemented with great personal commitment have emerged annually. They connect locations across national borders and make tangible how individual ideas lead to collective action.

Figures that make impact visible

Once again in 2026, the worldwide participation in the action weeks was shown to be significant. 153 projects in 33 countries were realized by 2004 employees who together contributed over 5300 hours of volunteer work.
The results impressively illustrate the range of commitment: over 900 trees planted, 22 liters of donated blood, and verifiable savings of 1.8 tons of CO₂ and 1.7 tons of waste exemplify the active contribution to environmental and resource protection. The volume of donations and monetary contributions amounts to around 77,000 euros this year as well.

When commitment connects

Behind these figures are numerous projects that strengthen the community, protect living spaces, and provide concrete support. 'WeCare has a great and personal significance for me. The initiative strengthens cohesion and promotes a sense of togetherness. At the same time, it fills me with pride and gratitude to see how our employees worldwide engage with such commitment,' says Dr. Cornelia Brucklacher, Chairwoman of the Supervisory Boards and Shareholder of the Brucklacher Group.

WeCare thus becomes a connecting element that promotes a shared understanding of responsibility and sustainably shapes the corporate culture of the Brucklacher Group – beyond day-to-day business and with lasting impact.
