At EuroBLECH, TRUMPF is launching the new generation of its most productive laser cutting machine series, TruLaser 5000. The machine makes processes in sheet metal processing more transparent than ever before. Integrated cameras, sensors, and continuous status monitoring provide users with a comprehensive overview of the processing process at all times. This allows companies to quickly identify when and where productive time is lost and to take targeted measures to increase their efficiency. 'Many sheet metal manufacturers have already brought their laser cutting processes to a very high level of productivity. The next lever is to create more transparency in production and to specifically reduce efficiency losses. The new TruLaser 5000 provides the necessary information for users to recognize deviations early, take targeted countermeasures, and continuously increase their productivity,' says TRUMPF product manager Milena Baur.

Transparency creates improvement potential

For more transparency, TRUMPF has integrated several cameras into the laser cutting machine, whose live streams can be accessed remotely. The camera perspectives cover the entire machine interior and provide insights into the cutting process and the pallet changer, among other things. Complemented by live data from other systems, a central dashboard for production is created directly at the operating panel. Operators and production managers can see machine status, remaining run times, and current events at a glance.

Camera images and real-time notifications immediately show where support is needed. This allows employees to intervene more quickly, avoid unplanned downtimes, and manage multiple machines simultaneously.
Also new is the collision overview in the dashboard. It shows in which programs collisions between the nozzle and sheet have led to downtimes. Users can thus identify recurring errors more quickly and take measures to avoid them. The TruLaser series 5000 also includes three years of 'Condition Monitoring' as standard. The predictive service monitors machine conditions, detects potential failures early, and helps avoid unplanned downtimes. This increases the availability of the system.

Proven assistance systems for more process reliability

For maximum process reliability, TRUMPF relies on proven assistance systems for laser cutting in the new TruLaser 5000. 'Active Speed Control' monitors the cutting process in real-time, detects quality deviations during processing, and automatically adjusts the feed rate. New for EuroBLECH is that the system monitors the condition of the nozzle during cutting and initiates a cleaning cycle in case of contamination. This allows the machine to counteract early before scrap is produced. With the Smart Rerun function, the machine automatically detects cutting interruptions and resumes the cutting process at the correct point. In combination with Active Speed Control, the TruLaser 5000 can continue production even in the case of miscuts without operator intervention. This reduces downtime and increases productivity.

Powerful machine for demanding applications

The TruLaser series 5000 is suitable for all companies that want to cut components highly productively and automatically and optimize their machine utilization. With up to 24 kW laser power, it is suitable for all common materials in sheet metal processing. Depending on the format, it processes sheets with dimensions from 3 x 1.5 meters to 6 x 2 meters. Users can economically manufacture both delicate precision components and large-format components. Typical areas of application can be found in mechanical engineering, agricultural machinery, commercial vehicle construction, and contract manufacturers.
