
Skilled labor shortages, frequently changing components, and limited production areas pose challenges for many manufacturing companies. With the new TruLaser Weld 3000, TRUMPF presents a compact robot laser welding cell at EuroBLECH 2026 that can be programmed significantly faster with AI and requires little space. 'The TruLaser Weld 3000 provides competitive advantages, especially for companies that manufacture high-quality sheet metal assemblies and enclosures in small series with high variant diversity. It enables stable processes, short lead times, and thus high flexibility in manufacturing,' says Moritz Berger, product manager at TRUMPF.
Twice as fast from CAD model to finished program

The new TruLaser Weld 3000 can be programmed either traditionally at the machine or 'offline' using the TruTops Weld software, e.g., from the office. This is particularly advantageous for frequently changing components: employees create new programs on the computer while the machine continues to produce. In addition, the welding programs based on CAD data are generated significantly faster than with conventional programming.
With the 'TeachLine Touch' function, small deviations can subsequently be corrected. Welding points can be moved to the correct position by simply tapping on the machine screen. The programming and setup time is reduced by up to 50 percent. Correction is even easier with the 'TeachLine AI' function extension. Here, an AI-based method detects deviations in the welding points and corrects the robot path according to the actual component situation. This allows the system to be set up faster for new components. Another advantage: even less experienced employees can operate the laser welding cell.
Smaller welding optics expand the range of parts

A newly developed welding optics that is about 40 percent smaller expands the application range of the TruLaser Weld 3000. Thanks to its compact design, the welding robot can also reach hard-to-access areas in the component, such as the interiors of deep enclosures, boxes, or containers. Users can thus automate the production of a larger range of parts and reduce manual rework. For process stability and seam quality, TRUMPF relies on proven laser welding technologies.
This includes BrightLine Scan, a combination of high-frequency scanner and motorized focus adjustment. It allows for a higher gap bridging of up to 0.4 millimeters and wider weld seams for better tolerance compensation. The BrightLine Weld function distributes the laser power over an inner and outer core in the laser light cable, which particularly reduces spatter during deep welding and ensures high-quality results. For larger gaps of up to approximately 1.5 millimeters or materials that require filler material, FusionLine combines the laser with filler wire for targeted material input.
Little footprint, much flexibility
The protective enclosure of the TruLaser Weld 3000 has a footprint of 3.65 x 3.65 meters, making it about 24 percent smaller than the smallest version of the TruLaser Weld 5000. Thus, the laser welding cell is ideal for confined production environments. Despite its compact design, the machine can process components in pallet size. This is made possible by a KUKA Iontec robot with a reach of 2100 millimeters and the latest control generation. To align the components, the user can choose between a classic welding table, a rotary-tilt positioner, or a compact rotary changer for parallel loading and unloading.
With a laser power of three or four kilowatts, the TruLaser Weld 3000 welds stainless steel and structural steel up to eight millimeters as well as aluminum up to six millimeters in material thickness. Typical application fields include equipment and plant construction, sheet metal components for data centers, medical technology, or the kitchen and food industry.
