With the introduction of the new Sinamics E210 inverter and the new Simotics E-1EE1 servo motors, Siemens expands its drive portfolio for applications in the field of Extra Low Voltage (ELV). The new drive solution has been specifically developed for the requirements of battery-operated mobile systems and particularly addresses Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), and driverless transport systems. The goal is a powerful, compact, and fully integrated drive solution. It aims to help manufacturers and integrators reduce development effort and implement safety concepts more easily. At the same time, it creates a future-proof basis for modern mobile applications. Together, the Sinamics E210 and the Simotics E-1EE1 motors form a coordinated ELV drive solution. The Sinamics E210 can be easily integrated into higher-level automation and vehicle concepts through its integration into TIA Portal and the Simove modular system.

Sinamics E210: Compact ELV Inverter for Mobile Applications

The new Sinamics E210 has been specifically developed for battery-operated applications with 24V and 48V. As a compact, regenerative inverter, it enables precise and safe control of drive and wheel drives as well as other motion axes such as steering, lifting, or auxiliary axes. The direct connection to ELV battery systems eliminates the need for additional voltage conversion, simplifying the system architecture and increasing energy efficiency. At the same time, integrated safety functions, Profisafe support, Profinet-IRT communication, and integration into TIA Portal and Simove ensure quick integration into modern vehicle concepts. Thanks to its compact design, high overload capability, and flexible installation options, the inverter is particularly suitable for the next generation of powerful AGVs and AMRs.

Simotics E-1EE1: New Servo Motors for Powerful ELV Applications

With the new Simotics E-1EE1 motors in frame sizes 40 to 63, Siemens specifically expands its motor portfolio for Extra Low Voltage applications into higher power and torque ranges. The servo motors developed for 24V and 48V systems are optimally matched to the Sinamics E210 and are particularly suitable for dynamic mobile applications. An absolute 14-bit BiSS-C safety encoder and the internal dual-channel design support safety-related applications up to SIL 2. The electronic nameplate allows the Sinamics E210 to automatically read relevant motor data, simplifying parameterization and commissioning. Optional holding brakes, various gearbox options, and flexible connection technology further enable adaptation to different vehicle and machine concepts.

Comprehensive Siemens Solution for Tomorrow's Mobile Intralogistics
With the Sinamics E210 inverter and the Simotics E-1EE1 motors, Siemens offers a new, comprehensive drive solution for the growing demands of mobile intralogistics. The combination of inverter, motor, integrated safety, simplified engineering, and automation enables manufacturers of AGVs, AMRs, and mobile platforms to achieve faster development, lower integration risks, and high future security. Embedded in the Siemens ecosystem, users benefit not only from powerful drive technology but also from a scalable system architecture that supports future requirements for automation, safety, and security.
