Schmalz presents two innovations in vacuum generation for the first time in Germany at EuroBLECH: The first is a pneumatic compact ejector that combines high suction power with simple operation. Additionally, there is an electric vacuum pump developed for mobile robots that operates without a compressed air connection and is suitable for flexible, cable-free applications. Schmalz's goal: Vacuum generation tailored to the respective application – pneumatic or electric. Visitors to the trade fair can experience the technology behind it and what it achieves at the booth.

Loading and unloading unknown sheet metal parts

The Solution Kit ivOS Sheet Metal is suitable for automated loading and unloading stations at grinding, deburring, straightening, and laser cutting machines. It combines AI software, 3D vision sensors, and grippers into a ready-to-connect package. The solution can be directly connected to common robot platforms and is designed for changing part geometries as well as small batch sizes. Users can also see the system's capabilities at EuroBLECH at the partner booth: A flexible cobot variant for small part handling is showcased at Q-Fin.

Automatically design gripping solutions for sheet metal parts

Schmalz's web-based digital engineering service automatically designs suitable gripping solutions for different sheet metal parts based on existing CAD data. Users save up to 80 percent design time and receive a customized gripping solution that fits their entire parts portfolio.

The tool calculates millions of possible gripping points, compares different variants, and transparently shows which workpieces can be handled with the recommended solution. The matrix surface gripper FMG demonstrates at the trade fair how a customized system reduces costs and energy consumption.

Not every handling step can be automated. For manual work, Schmalz showcases the NEXO Pro torso bending exoskeleton. It relieves the back muscles while bending and reduces the risk of injury at assembly stations where heavy or bulky sheet metal parts are moved. The Gripster max suction lifter is also aimed at users who manually grip and move sheet metal parts. The intuitive one-button control ensures comfortable operation and quick horizontal placement of workpieces up to 120 kilograms.
