When it comes to efficiently removing contaminants such as oils, fats, emulsions, and chips, there is no way around non-halogenated hydrocarbons and modified alcohols. The new EcoCbase enables a cost-effective entry into powerful and economical cleaning with these solvents. The compact and flexible plug-and-play system has been specially developed for companies with smaller capacity needs and high demands on process safety as well as resource and energy efficiency. It can be adapted as needed for applications in pre-cleaning, intermediate cleaning, and final cleaning.
On one hand, the general industry increasingly has to meet higher requirements for component quality and cleanliness. On the other hand, more diversified product portfolios lead to lower quantities. To remain competitive in these challenges, component cleaning must be carried out in a process-safe and economical manner, as well as being energy and resource efficient. For these applications, Ecoclean has developed the flexible EcoCbase, a cost-effective yet powerful entry-level solution for cleaning with non-halogenated hydrocarbons and modified alcohols. The compact plug-and-play system, offered in S and M versions, requires a footprint of only 2,000 x 1,400 mm or 2,500 x 1,600 mm (L x W). The comparatively low transport height of 1,940 mm allows the single-chamber full vacuum cleaning system to be easily installed even in low ceiling heights. The maximum batch size of the EcoCbase S is 430 x 225 x 200 mm (L x W x H), with a weight of 50 kg, while the M version is designed for batches weighing up to 75 kg with dimensions of 530 x 320 x 250 mm. The loading of the system is done manually via an ergonomic loading station as standard and can be automated upon request.
High flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and process safety from the start

In the system equipped with a flood tank as standard, full-flow filtration during the filling and emptying of the working chamber, as well as bypass filtration, ensures that the solvent is always available in optimal quality. If the system is equipped with a second tank, it has a corresponding separate filtration. Continuous solvent treatment through the integrated distillation unit also contributes to consistently optimal media quality.
The separated oil is continuously discharged into an externally monitored container. This allows for the recovery of expensive machining oils, which, along with long media retention times, contributes to low operating costs.
The filling and emptying of the working chamber is done part-adapted through frequency-controlled, powerful flood pumps. For the requirement-specific cleaning of different components and achieving corresponding cleanliness requirements, the standard procedures of steam degreasing, spray and immersion cleaning, and injection flood washing can be freely combined with ultrasound, ultrasound plus, and pulsated pressure cleaning (PPC). The cleaning effect of the processes can also be specifically supported by a frequency-controlled rotary drive for goods rotation and parts positioning. This high flexibility ensures that the required cleanliness is achieved in a process-safe and economical manner for tasks in pre-cleaning, intermediate cleaning, and final cleaning. The necessary procedural steps are stored as parts-specific cleaning programs in the system control and can be easily selected via the intuitively operated HMI interface. With a total of 50 program slots, the new EcoCbase is also optimally equipped for current and future cleaning tasks.
Resource and energy efficiency are also convincing
To minimize energy consumption during cleaning, the medium in the EcoCbase is not only fully heated by the waste heat from distillation. The solvent system also employs new functions for heat recovery, which reduce energy consumption and operating costs. Additionally, the redundant safety concept with multiple automatic monitoring of all relevant temperatures and pressures, as well as the nearly emission-free cleaning, contribute to the safe and sustainable operation of the solvent system. Another advantage is the high flexibility regarding material compatibility, allowing components made from different materials to be cleaned in one system.
These features enable companies with low volumes of cleaning goods to enter solvent cleaning cost-effectively. Furthermore, the system is ideally suited for decentralized cleaning stations in larger manufacturing environments. Another plus is that the solvent system can also be operated in regions where the use of water as a cleaning medium and/or the disposal of wastewater from cleaning applications is regulated. The prerequisite is the suitability of solvent cleaning. Ecoclean offers cleaning trials worldwide in its own test centers.
