FOBA Laser Marking + Engraving presents innovative solutions for safe and efficient product labeling in medical technology at this year's MedtecLIVE (05.-07.05.2026 in Stuttgart). The focus is on the FOBA Workflow, a comprehensive process concept for maximum safety, reproducible marking results, and high production stability. Additionally, two state-of-the-art laser systems are showcased: an ultrashort pulse laser for material-friendly and deep black laser markings and a compact UV laser for precise labeling of sensitive plastics.

FOBA Workflow: Comprehensive process safety from component recognition to documentation

The FOBA Workflow combines coordinated process steps that support users in meeting regulatory requirements. The centerpiece is the camera-based vision system. It enables:
• Automatic component recognition and precise alignment before marking
• Product validation to prevent marking of incorrect or defective products
• Marking inspection to ensure marking quality in real-time
• Reduction of scrap and rework through stable and repeatable processes

Ultrashort pulse laser: Material-friendly black marking technology for the highest demands

The ultrashort pulse laser enables deep black, reflection-free, and corrosion-resistant markings – ideal for surgical instruments and demanding medical products. The 'cold processing' occurs without thermal influence on the material and produces durable markings with high readability. The technology meets the hygiene, readability, and durability requirements that are essential in medical technology.

UV laser: Compact, precise solution for sensitive plastics

The ultraviolet laser from FOBA was specifically developed for applications where plastics or sensitive materials need to be marked gently and with high contrast. Its compact design facilitates integration into FOBA marking workstations (M1000, M2000, M3000) as well as in automated production lines.
