GF has been awarded the Red Dot Design Award 2025 in the category Product Design for industrial equipment, machines, and automation. Uponor FastGuard impressed the international jury with its functional, ergonomic design and efficient installation.
The Red Dot Design Award, with a jury of 43 international experts, is one of the most prestigious design competitions in the world. The category Product Design is evaluated based on criteria such as innovation, functionality, and durability.
Uponor FastGuard meets the demands of modern construction and infrastructure projects where speed, safety, and reliability are crucial. The system allows for quick installation without tools, reducing labor costs and minimizing downtime. The design is particularly suitable for challenging ground conditions and environments where resilience and durability are necessary.

Uponor FastGuard consists of two pipe halves made of polypropylene, characterized by an ergonomic and tool-free design. In the first step, installers connect the lower halves of the one-meter-long sections with a simple socket-spigot system. After positioning the cable, they attach the upper halves using a unique locking mechanism that can be operated by hand or foot.
This mechanism not only speeds up the installation process but also reduces labor costs and is easier on the installers. Uponor FastGuard is delivered disassembled, which saves space and makes logistics more efficient.

The locking system was a particular highlight during development. With our unique, patented design, we were able to make the installation process not only more efficient but also more ergonomic."
Uponor FastGuard is available in dimensions DN110 and DN160 and is suitable for both temporary and permanent applications that require a robust cable protection system. It prevents cable damage in challenging environments, reducing the need for cables to be cut and spliced. Typical application areas include:
- Protection against unstable or uneven floors
- Installations with a low fill height (≥ 0.25m)
- Impact protection against construction machinery
- Temporary protection when working near active cables
- Bypassing sensitive areas with minimal environmental impact
