Bachmann electronic GmbH looks back on a successful fiscal year 2024. The automation expert increased its sales to a new all-time high of 108 million euros. This corresponds to an increase of 3.8% or 4 million euros compared to the previous year. Considering the five-year period from 2019 to 2024, the increase amounts to 54%.

While the situation in European mechanical engineering, one of the company's three core markets, remains persistently challenging, Bachmann electronic was able to continue growing through innovative expansions, particularly in renewable energies, especially wind energy. Energy management, including storage solutions based on battery and hydrogen technologies, is becoming increasingly important in this area. Additionally, the company was able to expand in maritime high-tech applications and traditional shipbuilding. Here, Bachmann is advancing the development of autonomous shipping and sustainable ship operation concepts.

Despite the new sales record, the past year was marked by numerous challenges that will continue into 2025. 'The disproportionate cost increases in Europe pose significant hurdles for internationally operating companies. In addition to personnel costs, expenses for IT security and software were the main cost drivers,' explains Dr. Beat Rünzler, CAO (Chief Administrative Officer) of Bachmann. Added to this are tightened legal frameworks. 'The promised reduction of bureaucracy by the European Union remains so far just lip service. Regulatory requirements are increasing rather than decreasing, which significantly hampers even high-performing companies like Bachmann,' criticizes Bernhard Zangerl, Bachmann CEO (Chief Executive Officer) regarding the politics.

For the year 2025, Bachmann is pursuing a cautious growth strategy. 'The political and economic conditions worldwide are unpredictable, making long-term planning difficult,' says CAO Rünzler. Nevertheless, the company remains optimistic. 'We can't do anything with too much pessimism,' jokes CEO Zangerl. 'Therefore, we will also push new opportunities and solutions in 2025 with full commitment and a healthy dose of optimism.'
