OVE Plasmatec reports a stable revenue in the mid-single-digit million range for 2024. With a small growth of nearly two percent compared to the previous year, the management is satisfied given the difficult economic environment. Key focuses of the past year included the establishment of a technical center and the development of PFAS-free coatings. Additionally, the processor of elastomers was able to meet increasing inquiries for technical cleanliness with high-quality solutions. For 2025, the new PFAS-free paints and growth targets in the aerospace sector in Great Britain provide optimism. Furthermore, the family-owned company is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
“Given the difficult market environment with a general crisis mood and legal tightening, we can be satisfied with the small revenue growth in 2024,” emphasizes Bettina Kremer, managing director of OVE Plasmatec. The family-owned company from Weil im Schönbuch, which specializes in coating and refining elastomer surfaces, was able to maintain its revenue in 2024 in the mid-single-digit million range. Contrary to the general trend, there was even a growth of nearly two percent compared to the previous year. The family-owned company traditionally does not publish specific figures.
Increased demand for LABS-compliant surfaces
Thus, the year 2024 was characterized on one hand by significant order restraint due to the impending PFAS ban. Especially customers from the fields of biomedicine, semiconductor industry, or pneumatics are waiting for new coating alternatives, just like users from the drinking water or food sectors. Together with the crisis in the automotive industry, the signs were not good. On the other hand, OVE Plasmatec was able to respond to the increased demand for general technical cleanliness with high-quality solutions due to its flexibility.
The company benefits from having been a pioneer years ago by applying plasma technology in the elastomer sector with the deep-pore cleaning of seals. In addition to wet cleaning processes, OVE has developed plasma cleaning for producing LABS-compliant surfaces into a highly effective method. With investments in its own technical center at the quality laboratory directly next to production, the management has further secured the company's future. In the testing and inspection facilities, the future of elastomer coating can be simulated. Thus, the newly developed alternatives to PFAS-free paints can also be tested.
25 Years – OVE Plasmatec Celebrates Anniversary
For 2025, the management is cautiously optimistic. Growth opportunities are presented by three new PFAS-free paints as well as possible new markets in the aerospace sector in Great Britain. Furthermore, the management and all employees are pleased in the anniversary year that everything has been running smoothly at OVE Plasmatec for 25 years.
