TRUMPF, a German high-tech company, and Cutlite, an Italian manufacturer of 2D laser machines, are joining forces and entering into a strategic partnership. To this end, TRUMPF is acquiring the business of Cutlite Penta S.p.A. from its ultimate parent company, El.En. S.p.A. With this step, TRUMPF is expanding its offerings for customers in the field of customized, large-format, high-performance laser cutting systems and machines for large-format pipes. Cutlite will remain an independent brand with its own manufacturing, sales, and service facilities and will continue to develop and produce customized large-format cutting systems.
Through this partnership, TRUMPF is acquiring an established brand with its own manufacturing capabilities for customized machines. TRUMPF plans to further expand Cutlite's expertise, thereby strengthening the company's ability to cover the entire spectrum of sheet metal processing.
Cutlite is an established, independent manufacturing company with a strong European identity and market position, as well as the capability to produce customized, customer-specific machines.
By acquiring Cutlite and its established subsidiaries, TRUMPF customers gain access to complementary product portfolios. In return, Cutlite customers will have easier access to the TRUMPF ecosystem while still being able to rely on their proven Cutlite products and services.

Cutlite has 34 years of experience with high-performance laser cutting systems and specializes in customized large-format cutting machines. With very powerful lasers (30–60 kW), Cutlite offers a wide range of solutions as a replacement for today's very energy-intensive and slow plasma cutting machines. The company develops and manufactures laser cutting machines with around 190 employees in Prato, Italy.
The completion of the transaction is expected in the second half of 2026 and is subject to the usual regulatory approvals.
