Röder Maschinenbau presents the new PFZ Ultimate series as an important milestone alongside other product innovations at Blechexpo. With it, the company expands its portfolio to include a CNC profile machining center that is consistently tailored to the increasing demands in profile and plate machining. Building on the proven PFZ series, the PFZ Ultimate offers expanded machining options, more automation, and greater flexibility for long parts and plates.

A central feature of the new machine is the angle head 'WK360', specifically adapted to customer requirements. It is integrated into the machining process via the fourth axis and enables complete 5-sided machining of workpieces and profiles up to 12 meters in length - without time-consuming repositioning. The stepless swivel capability of 360 degrees allows flexible access to all relevant profile sides. 'The most striking feature is certainly the angle head, which has an automatic tool changing function and enables extensive 5-sided machining. This significantly reduces our customers' machining time,' explains managing director Erwin Röder.
Automated Complete Machining
The angle head not only performs milling and drilling processes but also automatically changes its tools from its 10-slot magazine. This allows different machining steps to be combined in one pass - a clear advantage for precision and process reliability.
Flexible in Clamping Technology and Work Processes
The PFZ Ultimate is designed to securely and efficiently fix different workpieces - pressure-regulated, controlled vises adapt flexibly to various machining scenarios. Additionally, a pendulum operation is possible: while one side is being loaded, machining is already taking place on the other side. This reduces downtime and increases throughput.
An optionally integrable sawing unit makes the system a combined sawing-drilling-milling solution. This creates a continuous processing line, especially for long profiles, that connects cutting and drilling-milling processes in one workflow.
Expanded Machining Areas
In addition to profile machining, the PFZ Ultimate also covers plates and complex special profiles. For this purpose, the working area has been specifically enlarged: The machining range of the Y-axis extends up to 800 mm and the Z-axis up to 550 mm. Thus, the PFZ Ultimate offers additional travel for large-format components. Massive construction and high-quality machine components ensure precision and durability.
Operation with System

For control, Röder continues to rely on the long-standing partner Heidenhain, now with the new TNC7 Basic. It clearly displays all work steps and allows intuitive programming directly at the control or via various CAD-CAM programs. 'Our customers want to produce faster, reduce non-productive times, and simultaneously process larger components. We respond with more automation and greater flexibility in machining,' summarizes Erwin Röder.
Variants and User Segments
The PFZ Ultimate is available in various sizes: PFZ 4000, 6000, 8000, 12000, as well as in special dimensions according to customer specifications. This provides Röder with solutions for a wide range of applications - from smaller components to long profiles made of steel, stainless steel, or aluminum. Typical application areas of the PFZ series can be found in steel construction, hall construction, bridge construction, facade construction, and in specialized locksmith and metalworking companies. The Röder service and application team is quickly and reliably available to users for commissioning, training, and individual support.
