Cyber attacks on industrial control systems are increasing worldwide. Bachmann electronic has relied on a high level of OT security (Operational Technology) for many years and now underscores this with the successful certification of its automation solution M200 according to IEC 62443-4-2.

The M200 automation solution from Bachmann electronic has now been certified according to IEC 62443-4-2. Together with the previously acquired certification according to IEC 62443-4-1, the entire cybersecurity chain is covered – from development to implementation to operation. The protection of systems at Bachmann electronic is based on the 'Defense in Depth' principle: Coordinated protective measures at different levels of control increase resilience and minimize the impact of an attack. Both operators and integrators benefit from a robust and future-proof solution and can efficiently build their own cybersecurity concepts on it.

IEC 62443-4-2 sets specific requirements for the IT security of components such as controllers, communication devices, and software modules. It is particularly aimed at product manufacturers and is a crucial step in bringing industrial automation systems up to date with cybersecurity.

Previously, Bachmann electronic was certified for secure development processes according to IEC 62443-4-1. Together, both standards cover the entire cybersecurity chain – from development to implementation to operation.
