
Flender, a leading global provider of mechanical and electrical drive systems, is pleased to announce the appointment of Tommy Rahbek Nielsen as President of the Wind business segment effective September 1, 2025. Tommy Rahbek Nielsen will succeed Aarnout Kant, who will continue to lead strategic global projects within the company and retain his role as General Manager Americas, reporting directly to the Group CEO. With its Winergy products, Flender is a market leader in drive systems for wind turbines, including core components such as gearboxes, generators, and direct-drive segments.
Tommy Rahbek Nielsen brings extensive experience in management, supply chain, and financial strategy in the wind industry. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Vestas Wind Systems A/S. During his time at the wind turbine manufacturer Vestas, he achieved significant successes, including the development and implementation of global manufacturing and supply chain strategies as well as the successful integration of the offshore business. Since 2004, he has worked in a global environment, and has been active in key markets such as Germany and China, where he played a crucial role in promoting the wind industry.
