The development of new manufacturing processes and process chains is at the core of the work in the field of manufacturing technology. In addition to cutting manufacturing processes with geometrically defined and undefined cutting edges, erosion technology, laser, water, plasma, and dry jet processes are also available, as well as generative manufacturing processes such as selective laser sintering. By purposefully configuring the mechanisms of action of these processes, it is possible to solve demanding machining tasks or to increase the performance and cost-effectiveness of manufacturing technology.
